ToolHound Desktop Modules

The ToolHound Desktop system can be tailored to specific requirements by adding optional modules.   ToolHound Desktop offers modules for Materials Replenishment, Maintenance and Calibration, External Rentals, Warehouse to Jobsite Transfers, and Employee Time and Attendance Monitoring.

Materials Replenishment

A critical part of managing your tool crib or storeroom is maintaining acceptable levels of consumables and replacement tools. To make sure you are never caught without critical inventory, we developed the Replenishment module. The Replenishment module is intelligent software that monitors item availability and usage to create purchase orders. The system also tracks these orders, and reports on usage history so that management can make informed decisions regarding purchasing strategies.

Maintenance and Calibration

There is nothing more frustrating than to finally locate a piece of equipment for a time-sensitive project, only to find that it isn't functional since it wasn't properly maintained. Tracking the maintenance schedules of your tools and equipment ensures equipment is always in good condition and allows implementation of preventative maintenance. The result is fewer equipment breakdowns and work stoppages, longer asset life, greater resale values and a safer work site. Tracking everything from labor and material costs to service histories, the Maintenance module is an invaluable addition to your basic ToolHound Desktop system package.

External Rental

The External Rental module is perfect for companies that rent or sell equipment to either in-house departments or divisions within the company, or to outside contractors. Allowing you to set up an efficient rental system to your own specifications, the External Rental module manages your rental rates, calculates discounts, and automatically reports on miscellaneous charges and billing rates. Simply scan an item out to the department or contractor and scan upon return. ToolHound's Rental Module does the rest, calculating rental charges for the time the item was checked out.

Sets Selling Prices Set the selling price for each item based on cost, plus mark-up, or by identifying a specific price.
Miscellaneous Billing Add on any extra charges not accounted for under regular billing rates.
Rental Billing Report Print out the list of charges for each transaction, including miscellaneous billing charges associated with each rental.
Sales Report Report on all the transactions for a selected period, allowing the user to sort report details by contractor or work order.

Warehouse Ship and Receive

The Warehouse Ship and Receive module is a timesaving option designed to simplify the task of transferring tools and equipment from one issue location to another.    Rather than manually re-entering the items into the ToolHound Desktop system at the receiving location, inventory data is transferred between locations via a CD, 3½” disk, other writeable media, such as a portable USB drive, or email.
